One of the best affordable watches released by Timex during the brand’s ongoing resurgence over the past decade is the Marlin Jet Automatic.
Although it isn’t based on an archival Timex design like most of the Marlin family, the Marlin Jet is still bursting with retro vibes thanks to its Space Age-inspired design.
Features like stick indices and hands and its crosshair dial read classic mid-century dress watch, but the repeating concentric circle engravings on the crown, caseback and bezel, along with the acrylic glassbox-style crystal that fully envelops said bezel, give the watch a retro-futuristic character all its own.
We’ve seen a few iterations of the Marlin Jet since Timex first introduced it more than two years ago, and the latest taps into the brand’s American heritage for an unexpectedly cool America 250 edition.

Star-spangled Timex
Patriotic versions of products can become very corny very quickly, but Timex has done an excellent job of tastefully incorporating some red, white and blue touches into the Marlin Jet as part of its America 250 Collection.
The watch features a concave white dial with a “250” logo in blue script above 6:00. The hour and minute hands, along with the applied indices, are all filled with blue, save for the 12:00 index, which has a red filling. The seconds hand is also fully colored red for a bold appearance.
