Nike Just Dropped the Most Innovative Recovery Slide of All Time. It’s Not Even Close

Back in 2024, Nike announced a partnership with Hyperice, one of the leading recovery tech brands. Together, they imbued the Swoosh’s athlete-favored wearables with groundbreaking recovery innovation.

The first products were the Nike Hyperboot, a compression sneaker, and a matching heating and cooling vest. Then, Nike’s ACG division got in on it with the Nike ACG x Hyperice Normatec Elite during the Milan Olympics.

Now, the brands have announced their next big step forward in this ongoing collaboration. And it might just blow those earlier launches out of the water.

This is the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide.

Although not often brought up in discussions, Nike’s slides are among the brand’s most iconic and best-selling offerings. But this new version blows every single one of them out of the water, innovation-wise. Yet, at its core, it is still very much a Nike Air Zoom slide.

In fact, it is built on the very same low-profile Air Zoom outsole and boasts the line’s legendary cushioning. Even the strap that goes across the top of the wearer’s foot is adjustable, like the slides that came before it.

In fact, despite the integrated tech, these can be worn just like any other slide, be that to and from the gym, around your home or even during travel — yes, they are TSA-compliant and can be brought through with your carry-on items.

But they also have tech integration that sets them so far apart from other slides, be they Nike or otherwise; it’s not even funny. Truly, I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to call these the most innovative recovery slides ever made.

Next-level recovery

The tech integration starts at the strap. There, users will find the Hyperice control module that makes everything else possible. Not only does this module allow you to turn them on and off, but it also has a battery indicator and Bluetooth connectivity (so you can customize settings via a mobile app).

That module (and the accompanying app) grants access to two recovery-focused technologies: heating and vibration. And both have three independently-accessible levels, so you can match your recovery needs to the intensity.

For heating, level one starts at 109 degrees (Fahrenheit), level two goes up to 113 degrees and the third level hits 117 degrees. Vibration follows a similar pattern, with levels of 50, 75 and 100 Hz. Furthermore, you can just set and forget them, going about your business while the slides do the work of helping to relax, reset and recover you from the ground up.

Of course, they’re not precisely perfect. The battery life is only an hour, while recharging takes three. But it is easily rechargeable with a magnetic connection.

If you’re an on-the-go athlete (Nike stresses “if you have a body, you’re an athlete), an hour might just be more than enough, especially since it doesn’t require isolation. You can go about your day all the same, and you won’t look like a buffoon while doing it.

Availability and pricing

The Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide launches globally on September 29, 2026. Interested buyers will be able to get it on both Nike’s and Hyperice’s sites.
