Nike’s Mind 001 slide (and Mind 002 sneaker) has been arguably the most talked-about piece of footwear of 2026 so far. But the unorthodox slip-on has not been without its detractors.
Looking like something out of a dystopian movie, the triangular mule might sport a funky aesthetic but its intent has always been ergonomic. Underneath the foam construction are a set of 22 nodes that move independently against your foot to create micro-pressure and do things like improve balance and actually increase mental awareness.
Experimental or otherwise, the silhouette has and will become a fashion statement — and for under $100. Yet, the colorways unveiled so far have largely been just as bold as the slide itself. That all changes with the Mind 001’s latest variant.
