Crocs Revises Its Classic Boat Shoe with an Outdoorsy Realtree Camo Treatment

The shoe that best honors Crocs’ original purpose gets a stylistic redux fit for adventurers, anglers, hunters and more.

Roughly a year ago, Crocs launched its Classic Boat Shoes. While they seemed like somewhat of a departure from the brand’s classic footwear, they actually paid proper homage to the brand’s origins.

Since then, a few different iterations of that shoe have emerged. However, the latest edition, the Crocs Realtree Classic Boat Shoe, could end up being a serious fan-favorite.

Incognito Crocs

Interestingly, the thing that makes these Crocs stand out the most is their camouflage pattern. Like many, many outdoors-inspired pieces of gear these days, these shoes feature a Realtree camo pattern.

Unlike traditional forms of camo, which look more like abstract color patterns, Realtree is known for its photorealistic patterns. As the name suggests, the brand’s signature is woodland camo, made up of tree branches, leaves and such.

And that’s precisely what you’ll find on the upper of these Crocs. While it might be hard to find, there’s also a small brand logo and name hidden there, too.

For fans of hiking, hunting, angling and general outdoor activities, this brings a measure of adventurous style to these shoes that wasn’t there before. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see these Crocs at a Bass Pro Shops.

Functionally and materially, these Crocs Classic Boat Shoes remain true to their siblings.

Under that Realtree camo, you’ll find the same Croslite foam that’s found throughout the brand’s catalog. As such, these shoes are waterproof, lightweight, relatively durable and easy to clean.

But what about the collar, laces and suede lining, you might ask? Well, while they look like leather, they’re actually not. They’re made from a vegan material that only looks and feels like leather, so you won’t have to worry about getting them wet, either.

There’s also one major functional difference between these and Classic Clogs: these have no back strap. Instead, these are slip-ons in the same tradition as typical boat shoes, which can be better secured with their laces, should you need to tighten them up.
