Its popular floorstanding speakers have been given a similar upgrade, as well.

Last month, Monitor Audio gave its most affordable line of loudspeakers, its Bronze Series, a massive overhaul. Specifically, the new Bronze Series 7G featured upgraded drivers and cabinets, along with enhanced aesthetics. According to the brand, it aims to set “a new benchmark for entry-level performance.”

Now, the renowned British hi-fi manufacturer isn’t giving the same treatment to its Silver Series 7G line of loudspeakers, which were released in 2021 and are the “next step up” from the Bronze range. However, it is introducing new limited-edition models.

Carbon Black Metallic

Since its 2021 release, Monitor Audio has offered its Silver Series 7G line of loudspeakers in five different finishes, including Natural Walnut, High Gloss Black, Black Oak, Ash and Satin White.

However, it is now introducing an “LE” (or “limited edition”) version in Carbon Black Metallic. According to the brand, the new finish “exudes sophistication while delivering breathtaking clarity, depth, and power.”

The brand’s Silver 300 7G floorstanding speakers are also available in the new Carbon Black Metallic finish.

There is a bit of a catch, however. The new Carbon Black Metallic finish is limited to just two of the loudspeakers in the brand’s Silver Series 7G. Specifically, the Silver 100 7G bookshelf speakers and the Silver 300 7G floorstanding speakers.

This means that the two other floorstanding speakers in the range, the larger Silver 500 7G and smaller Silver 200 7G, aren’t available in the finish. Neither are the most affordable bookshelf speakers, the Silver 50 7G.

Also, the center channel, Dolby Atmos modules and subwoofer in the Silver Series 7G aren’t available in the new finish, meaning you can’t build out a complete home theater system in Carbon Black Metallic, unfortunately.

Same sound, new finish

Aside from the Carbon Black Metallic finish, both the Silver 100 7G bookshelf speakers and the Silver 300 7G floorstanding speakers are exactly the same as before.

The Silver 100 7G are the higher-end of the two bookshelf speakers in the range (the other being the Silver 50 7G). They have a two-way featuring the brand’s proprietary ceramic-coated aluminium magnesium (C-CAM) drivers, comprised of a 1-inch tweeter and 8-inch mid-woofer.

According to the brand, the Silver 100 7G is perfect for smaller stereo music setups.

The Silver 300 7G are the Goldilocks floorstanding speakers in the line, sitting between the three-way Silver 500 7G and the 2.5-way Silver 200 7G.

They feature a three-way design and include four ceramic-coated aluminium magnesium drivers, including the same 1-inch tweeter used in the bookshelf speakers, as well as a 3-inch midrange driver and two 6-inch bass drivers.

According to the brand, the Silver 300 7G floorstanding speakers are able to deliver “powerful, immersive sound with refined detail – perfect for music and movies.”

The pair on the right are floor-standing speakers with three drivers each: a tweeter, a midrange, and two woofers. All speakers have a sleek, matte black finish.

The Carbon Black Metallic finish does come at an extra cost, however.

Monitor Audio hasn’t specified how many of these “Limited Edition” loudspeakers it’s going to make. However, the Carbon Black Metallic finish does come at an extra cost.
