As the saying goes: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, just add more gold.
At least that’s what Vacheron Constantin did to the ultra-thin, perpetual calendar with moonphase-wielding version of its flagship integrated sports watch.

The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, with a shockingly streamlined case height of 8.1mm, was introduced in 2016. Since then, several iterations have been released with aesthetic and mechanical updates, including a skeletonized Grand Complication earlier this year.
Both new references stick to the original design, with four sub-dials tracking the leap year, month, date, moonphase and day, surrounding the hour and minute hands.
The only updates Vacheron Constantin made come down to the dials. One reference is made of 18-karat white gold with burgundy laquer applied over the radial brushed dial, while the other is entirely 18-karat pink gold, including the dial, with only the printed tracks and logos obscuring the precious metal.
