Crocs’ Latest Clog Combines Cold-Weather Coziness with Military Styling and Utility

This fuzzy footwear proves that fleece isn’t just for jackets, and EDC gear can extend beyond your pockets and packs.

It has been a wild year for Crocs so far, with releases that range from a heritage-level edition of its Classic Clog to a rugged, adventure-ready camping shoe to a reinterpretation of a classic boat shoe and more.

Yet, if the brand’s latest launch is any indication, it’s not slowing down anytime soon. Just in time for colder weather to start kicking in, the brand has launched the Hollister x Crocs Classic Unfurgettable Clog.

Believe it or not, these clogs are a lot more utilitarian and military-inspired than their punny name might have you believe..

The camo pattern on these fuzzy clogs is called “Dusty Olive.”

Fleece it out

Although these shoes are based on Crocs’ iconic Classic Clogs, there’s an immediate, glaring difference: the upper. Instead of the classic Croslite foam, these ones are wrapped in a cozy, thick-pile faux shearling upper (a type of synthetic fleece).

Not only does that give them a more distinct, slipper-like appearance, but it also makes them a lot warmer for cooler weather wear. In fact, that fleece extends to the inside, as well.

These clogs come with a removable carabiner and zippered pouch for some extra utility.

However, there’s something else happening with that upper. Its colorway is actually a camouflage that the brands have dubbed “Dusty Olive.”

Obviously, soldiers aren’t being issued Crocs as a part of their loadout, but there’s still a bit of military, utilitarian inspiration behind the colorway. Yet, there are a few other additional details that help separate these shoes from other Crocs in even more genuinely useful ways.

While the upper has none of Crocs’ signature holes, the back strap still does.

EDC footwear? Yes

With its thick-pile upper, you might expect these Crocs to be house slippers. However, they retain a thick Croslite foam outsole with some tread for outings beyond your front door. They might not be hikers, but they can handle the city or your campsite, no problem.

You’ll also notice that the fleece upper isn’t perforated like traditional clogs. While this maintains warmth better, it doesn’t allow for Jibbitz charms. Lucklily, the back strap still has some of those holes … and already has a couple of useful attachments.

Despite the cozy upper, the thick, treaded outsole is still outdoor-friendly.

The first addition is a removable carabiner. This handy device makes attaching these slippers to a pack a cinch. It can also be used to attach other gear to your Crocs, should you so choose. It might seem silly, but it’s genuinely helpful, even if only just.

The second, perhaps more interesting addition is a zippered nylon pouch. Ideal for stashing a spare key (or maybe a keychain-sized multi-tool), this removable pocket increases the clogs’ utility even more. Of course, it can also be removed should you so choose.

For casual wear in colder weather, these Crocs are tough to beat.
