Almost a decade after the appearance of the first “super” running shoe, the idea of a carbon-plated running shoe is neither novel nor rare.
These enhanced race day kicks and daily trainers are pretty ubiquitous, but until this point, the technology hadn’t made the jump from lacing up to log a few miles to cross training. That all changes with Reebok’s new Nano Pro Training Shoes.

Reebok claims its newly updated, insanely popular cross-training shoes are the first training shoes on the market to feature carbon plate technology, essentially making them the first “super” training shoe.
Cross-training, amplified
The primary benefit of inserting a plate into running shoes is energy return: the plate, typically but not always made from carbon, improves performance by stiffening the sole to enhance energy return, improve forward momentum and increase running economy.
Transfer that power and momentum to box jumps, squats, HIIT workouts and any cross-training that requires dynamic bursts of power, and you’ve got quite the advantage for your daily workout on your feet.
