Salomon has made a name for itself creating resilient outdoor gear capable of handling the harshest conditions, but its latest release takes a slightly different approach.

Dubbed the “Cozy Pack,” the brand’s most recent capsule collection transforms three of its toughest shoes into relaxing-ready styles designed for downtime.

Safe, sheltered, Salomon

The new Cozy Pack includes three Salomon mainstays: the ever-popular XT-6 Expanse (which is almost sold out at the time of this writing), the Speedcross 3 and the ACS+.

Across the board, much of the adventure-ready DNA that defines Salomon remains in this cozy reimagining, which the brand states is “made to celebrate relaxation and downtime.”

Technical details like the Quicklace system, proprietary sensiFIT fit system, rugged Mud contaGRIP outsole, protective mudguard and EnergyCell midsole are still found in some (but not all) of the three models, but it’s the upper that really sees a transformation across the board.

The XT-6 Expanse Cozy Fall is now wrapped in premium suede, mesh and soft felt in cozy hues, with a new Oxford Tan/Earth Brown colorway. The upper is textile and leather, which lends the shoe a tactile, almost comforting vibe.

The Speedcross 3 Expanse Cozy Fall is now wrapped in an Oxford Tan/Rainy Day colorway, while the ACS+ Expanse Cozy Fall is available in the same soothing hues.

I know the XT-6 gets all the love, but I actually think the ACS+ Cozy Fall is the best-looking shoe in this collection.

With this pack, Salomon is really embracing the slow, leisurely side of fall and winter.

Fans of the ACS+ Expanse Cozy Fall are encouraged to “embrace downtime and sink into long autumn walks,” while those eyeing the Speedcross 3 Expanse Cozy Fall might be tempted to “create the space to appreciate quality time,” rather than use the shoe for its original intent, which was an aggressive race-ready shoe.

I’m relaxed just looking at this photo. Imagine what the shoes feel like IRL.

Whether you’re going for a neighborhood walk, sipping a chai or, I don’t know, riding a train through some idyllic countryside, any of Salomon’s cozy-centric new shoes will do the trick.
