When it comes to watchmaking, Casio is pretty damn prolific, launching hundreds of models (or more) each year. That said, they’re not all winners, especially the further you inch toward the budget-friendly side of the spectrum.
That said, the brand does have its home runs from time to time, and not just under the G-Shock name. Case in point: the sporty throwback Casio Vintage AQ-240E boasts a unique blend of impeccable retro styling and a jaw-dropping MSRP.

Living in an analog-digital world
What’s interesting about this watch is that it isn’t a revival of an archival model. It’s an entirely new one. That said, you could be forgiven for thinking this is an ’80s reissue.
It does bear some of the hallmarks of Casio’s retro timepieces. For instance, it has an analog-digital display, marked by an eye-catching sun-ray analog dial and a wide digital display down at the bottom.
Along with furthering its vintage vibes, that dial combo also makes this watch super easy to read at a glance. The digital display also has a day display and indicates when an alarm is set.
