Many multi-tools promise endless utility, but when they’re overcrowded with tons of implements you don’t actually use, they can quickly become cumbersome rather than convenient.

Sometimes, even in the world of EDC, less truly is more.

That’s where the Sawg enters the picture: this tiny multi-tool on Kickstarter is a versatile, outdoor-oriented workhorse that eschews stuffing its 2.1 ounce design with a bunch of tools you won’t use — opting instead for four essentials with tons of impact.

Intentional impact

Inspired by the natural mechanics of the praying mantis, the Sawg focuses on symmetry, balance and strength in a minimal form. It hails from Eck Design, a Hong Kong-based brand that has seen success with its previous Kickstarter campaigns.

The brand’s newest creation is a 4-in-1 EDC instrument that delivers fully integrated tools in a single, solid package that’s as slim as an iPhone but much more compact.

Those carefully selected implements include a 2.15-inch saw, a blade of the same length, a pry bar and an adjustable wrench designed to work with 24 nut/bolt sizes, from M2.5 to M10.

Both the 440C steel saw and the M390 steel blade feature liner lock mechanisms, which provide stability and security while you’re slicing or sawing. The saw is constructed with a staggered double-tooth design, which lends it reliable, lightweight, corrosion-resistant performance.

The Sawg is built with titanium, the current material darling of the EDC world. Titanium’s popularity is owed to its incredible strength and minimal weight, both of which are highly appreciated attributes in everyday carry.

If you want the tiny tool to be easy to spot in the dark, the Sawg comes with two dedicated tritium slots, so you can install glow tubes for increased visibility.

Designed to be carried multiple ways, the Sawg features a lanyard hole, and comes with custom leather sheath. It can also be carried easily in your pocket.

Available in both standard and black colorways, the Sawg is currently being funded on Kickstarter. When it ships in the spring of 2026, the multi-tool is expected to retail at $175.

If you’re interested in investing early, there’s a perk: you can purchase the Sawg for as little as $90 while the campaign is open. (The black colorway will cost you a little extra.)
