Weber’s Smokey Joe has long been one of those rare pieces of gear that punches above its dimensions. Compact, charcoal-fired and geared toward people who care more about flavor and tradition than deck space, it’s developed something close to a cult following. One Reddit user described it as “a fantastic little cooker… you can cook for two people comfortably,” anchored by weekly use all summer long, while another admitted they “honestly love mine” and cook on it regularly for up to four people depending on the meal.
That mix of portability, honest charcoal performance and near-bulletproof reliability is what’s carried the Smokey Joe for decades.
Earlier this fall, the tiny yet mighty grill was given a makeover — and thanks to a sudden Black Friday price drop on Amazon, it’s now firmly in the “why wouldn’t you buy it” category at a price of just $25.
A new look
WeberWeber just released a limited-edition version of the 14-inch model in a muted, surprisingly elegant Mocha Mousse finish, an understated milk-chocolate tone designed to look more refined than the typical black.
It’s also the first special finish to arrive without forcing users to compromise on performance features.
Unlike the Premium variant—which moves the vents and drops the ash catcher—the Mocha model keeps the classic underbody damper configuration favored by longtime owners, porcelain-enameled bowl and lid, and 147 square inches of cooking space.
