Hoka Just Revealed One of Its Most Tactical-Looking Releases Ever

The fresh Stinson One7 DSM combines minimalist luxury and tactical, tonal styling to create a Hoka release unlike any other.

Hoka’s new collaboration with Dover Street Market – a retailer known for blending luxury labels, avant-garde designers, and limited-edition collaborations doesn’t look like your typical Hoka release.

While the brand known for its stacked, cushy sneakers has introduced numerous black and white, as well as solid black sneakers in the past, this particular twist on the brand’s popular lifestyle trail shoe tiptoes an especially compelling line yet between a streetwear statement and a tactically styled daily hiker.

Part tactical, part trail

In terms of construction, the Stinson One7 DSM features a monomesh upper, a microfiber collar, a 3D-molded TPU heel clip, and an internal cage structure with speed lacing for a secure and easy fit.

But by wrapping all these details in either a full black or a striking black/white treatment fit for a Stormtrooper, Dover Street Market has deftly flipped the script on Hoka’s usual bright/outdoorsy vibes.

In many ways, it’s a look that, whether intentionally or not, feels like a nod to the elevated minimalism that fashion-sneaker audiences have come to expect from another longstanding partnership between streetwear icon Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas – a.k.a. Adidas’s Y-3 line, which has long mastered the art of disguising functional, activewear as runway-adjacent style statements.

The new release initially dropped on November 28 at DSM’s e-shop for 170 pounds or ~$240. That’s a definite premium over the $175 price of the standard Hoka Stinson 7.

For many sneaker collectors — especially those attuned to exclusivity, subtlety, and cross-category cool — this might go down as Hoka’s most stylish and compelling tactical plays yet.
