Final is a Japanese audio manufacturer specializing in audiophile-grade in-ear monitors (IEMs) and headphones, many of which are quite expensive. However, it has dipped its toes into the consumer audio market recently.

Earlier this summer, Final introduced the UX3000 SV, a pair of wireless noise-canceling headphones that promised excellent sound at a cut-rate price — they were $150.

Now, the popular audio brand has introduced two new pairs of wireless headphones: one more affordable and one more expensive than its previously released UX3000 SV.

Final UX1000 and UX5000

ANC headphones at low, low price

Specifically, Final has expanded its lineup of wireless over-ear headphones with the $65 UX1000 and the $250 UX5000. Let’s start with the former, as its price tag makes it super appealing.

Naturally, being so affordable, the Final UX1000 doesn’t have many of the advanced features you’d find in my expensive cans. They support hybrid noise cancellation and can increase or decrease the level of noise cancellation depending on ambient noise. There’s a transparency mode, too.

Unlike the UX5000, Final’s UX1000 also comes in two different finishes.

You toggle between noise-cancellation and transparency modes, or turn both off if you’re listening in a quiet environment. When both are off, the Final UX1000 promises up to 70 hours of battery life (or 40 hours with ANC on), which is pretty great.

Final claims that UX100 are “designed to bring the brand’s renowned sound quality to everyday listeners at an accessible price point.”

Wireless headphones with hi-fi in mind

For those who value sound quality over anything else, that’s where the UX5000 comes in. They are wireless headphones — there’s no active noise-cancellation — that Final claims were made using the same acoustic principles developed for its higher-end A-series of headphones.

At the heart of the UX5000 is the brand’s newly developed 40mm large-diameter dynamic driver, complemented by Qualcomm’s QCC3095 wireless platform.

Final’s UX1000 also supports wired playback for higher-resolution listening.

According to Final, this combination allows the UX500 to deliver a “spacious, expressive listening experience that rivals many premium wired headphones.”

Additionally, the Final UX500 has a lightweight design with soft ergonomic padding, making the headphones primed for long listening sessions.

Price and availability

Final’s UX1000 noise-canceling headphones come in two finishes: black and greige (gray/beige) and cost $65. The higher-end UX5000 wireless headphones are available in just one finish, black, and cost $250.

Both models are available now from Amazon and other selected retailers.
