This past year, Fiio has introduced several hi-fi gadgets under its Snowsky brand, which caters to budget-conscious audiophiles.

Of note, there’s been the Snowsky Tiny, a USB-C DAC/amp that costs just $20, as well as the Snowsky Retro Nano, a wireless DAC/amplifier with old-school charm.

And now it’s introducing a tiny music player called the Snowsky Disc.

A “CD inspired” design

Fiio’s Snowsky Disc is a tiny portable hi-fi player that works kind of like an iPod of old. It doesn’t support any non-music apps and thus is designed to deliver a distraction-free listening experience.

It has what Fiio claims is a “CD-inspired design.” This refers to its most distinctive feature: a large circular touchscreen. This is used for various music playback controls, as well as for displaying album artwork and lyrics.

As for the music, the Snowsky Disc is geared toward those who prefer local files to streaming. It has a microSD slot that supports up to 2TB of expandable storage, which Fiio claims is enough to hold roughly 8,000 albums.

It has dual headphone outputs: 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced. It also supports wireless headphones via Bluetooth.

That said, the Snowsky Disc doesn’t abandon modern features completely. It has built-in Wi-Fi and AirPlay support, so you can stream music from the Snowsky Disc to compatible wireless speakers.

It also has built-in Bluetooth with support for high-resolution codecs, including LDAC, so you can use the Snowsky Disc with a pair of wireless headphones or earbuds.

Inside, the Snowsky Disc has a dual DAC architecture that, according to the brand, has been “carefully tuned to deliver clean, detailed and natural sound across all files types.”

It features dual headphone outputs, a 3.5mm single-ended and a 4.4mm balanced. Fiio claims that it’s compatible with sensitive in-ear headphones as well as more demanding full-size headphones.

Additionally, the Snowsky Disc is more versatile than your average portable hi-fi player. It can be used as a USB-C DAC with a smartphone or laptop. It also has SPDIF output, so you can hook it up to a more traditional home hi-fi system.

According to the brand, the Snowsky Disc combines “CD-inspired design, enhanced connectivity, and audio performance far beyond most smartphones.”

According to the brand, the Snowsky Disc aims to redefine expectations for an entry-level digital audio player. It costs just $80 and comes in three distinct finishes: black, turquoise and pink.

The Fiio Snowsky Disc goes on sale starting in January 2026.
