Timberland is best known for its work boots, which have long been co-opted by folks in the worlds of fashion and hip-hop. But that doesn’t mean the brand trades solely in city-going styles.

In fact, the rugged enterprise has just reunited with another cult-favorite label to drop the Undefeated x Timberland Field Boot GTX, a military-inspired reimagining of one of the Timberland’s best outdoor boots.

If you didn’t know any better, you might not think these were Timberlands at all.

Timb-er!

The base footwear for this collaboration, the Timberland Field Boot, has been around for some time and marks one of the brand’s most capable outdoor shoes. However, there are some key differences between existing models and this one.

The most obvious alteration is its overall stylistic appearance. Timberland has taken advantage of Undefeated’s signature tactical styling to imbue this boot with military-inspired looks.

The core of the styling is its black-on-black upper, which extends to the boots’ outsole. And that’s highlighted with another militaristic element in the OD green highlights found on the Undefeated and Timberland logos on the side of the boots, the laces and D-ring-style eyelets, and the Undefeated-branded tongue patch.

But it isn’t just an appearance package; this boot has much more to offer. In fact, it might be the most capable version of the Timberland Field Boot ever…

New boot goofin’

Top to bottom, this boot has been revamped, improved and strengthened. The core of the upper, for instance, hinges on two parts: a primary suede material and ballistic nylon reinforcements on the side panels and tongue.

And while that would be pretty formidable on its own, there’s another hidden upgrade. Along with the added durability and toughness of the materials, the boot has a Gore-Tex lining and TimberDry waterproof membrane, as well. That means it’s impervious to inclement weather, which is especially helpful for outdoor use.

The boot also has PrimaLoft insulation, a padded collar and an internal fiberglass shank, offering warmth, stability and more. Even those rope laces are a more rugged upgrade from the original boot.

Yet, the brand didn’t stop there. To match the tough upper, the brand has revamped the outsole, as well. Now, it’s a chunky, lugged Vibram outsole that’s grippier, more rugged and more capable overall (and this boot, as mentioned, was already quite capable).
