Last year at Watches and Wonders, Bremont shocked the watch community by going against type and launching a jumping hour watch. The model was a significant departure from the brand’s utilitarian, pilot-watch roots.
It was the clearest signal yet that the brand had entered a new era under its recently appointed CEO, Davide Cerrato, an industry veteran who counts the jump-hour as his favorite complication.
Despite my initial skepticism about the watch, it turned out to be a seriously smart move for Bremont. At the same show, Cartier launched its own jump-hour watch, and the category has since become one of the hottest trends in watchmaking. Audemars Piguet even joined the party with a brand-new model line earlier this month.
The Terra Nova Jumping Hour has become a bestseller for Bremont, with limited editions of the model even selling out. Now, the brand has seemingly merged its past and present with a new, more rugged, stealthy take on its jump-hour watch that wouldn’t look out of place in a fighter jet’s cockpit.

Bremont has taken the guichet version of its Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour — the one with a vertically brushed steel cover over its dial with windows for the jumping hour and trailing minutes and a Wayfinder compass logo running seconds indicator in the center — and given it an all-black makeover.
The aptly named Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour Stealth Black features black DLC coating on its 904L stainless steel cushion case, with all markings for the jump hour rendered in stark white. This makes for one of the most legible guichet watches I’ve seen, and easily ranks as the most rugged and badass-looking.
