There’s a new retro-inspired 392 package entering the fray, and it lowers the cost of Wrangler V8 power by a sizable margin.

When Jeep kicked off the Twelve 4 Twelve program back in November, the brand set the bar high with the Moab. In addition to some key appearance upgrades and interior refinements, the celebratory special edition made the 392 model significantly more affordable.

While subsequent duckings have delivered on the style and the accessibility fronts, they haven’t packed the same kind of power under the hood. As such, they’ve felt somewhat lacking in their impact.

Thankfully, Jeep’s latest Twelve 4 Twelve drop doesn’t shy away from the might of the Hemi. For February, the brand is treating its ultimate V8-powered Wrangler to a heritage-inspired overhaul — and an even bigger discount than its Moab predecessor.

Hemi power and old-school cool

Jeep is calling this particular iteration the Wrangler Willys 392. As you can probably tell from the name, it pairs raucous performance with classic off-road looks.

In keeping with its 392 status, this means that it comes fitted with the 6.4-liter Hemi good for 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, Jeep also fits the V8 Willys with a Tru-Lok electronic locking rear diff, Dana 44 axles, a set of rock rails and some 35-inch BF Goodrich rubber, among various other choice off-road upgrades.

To give this Wrangler an appearance befitting its special-edition status, Jeep is introducing a new Goldilocks colorway starting in March. In combination with some Willys hood decals, heritage-inspired 4WD rear graphics and a steel bumpers front and rear, it makes for a sharp look.

Finally, as is typical of the brand’s up-spec V8s, the Wrangler Willys 392 comes loaded with premium features throughout the interior. In addition to some Nappa leather heated seats and an Alpine speaker system, it touts a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, four programmable auxiliary switches and the Trailer Tow Package.

It all amounts to a pretty complete package. However, as enticing as the specs alone are, the real draw of this special is the price.

A significantly cheaper V8 Wrangler

That’s because, with an MSRP starting at $69,995 (before destination and delivery), the 2026 Willys 392 slashes the price of admission for a V8-powered Wrangler by some $10,000.

Previously, the cheapest way to get your hands on some Hemi power in a Jeep platform was to go for the Moab introduced back in November. At $79,995, even it made for a relative bargain.

After all, while far from affordable, that was more than $20,000 less than the Wrangler 392 Final Edition that waffled on and off for a few years as Stellantis weighed the Hemi’s future. Accordingly, this Willys edition seems downright cheap.

Thankfully, the differences yielding the discount from the Moab appear to be strictly aesthetic in nature. Beyond ditching Moab text for Willys, the new 392 also does away with the body-colored hardtop and various other minor visual touches.

On the mechanical side, the brand has kept things the same. It still retains its Selec-Trac full-time transfer case, and it comes with the same winch-compatible bumper and 4.56 axle ratio.

As it works to stay ahead of rivals like the Ford Bronco, it seems that Jeep is coming to the realization that the best way to find more Wrangler buyers is to keep making the cost of V8 increasingly hard to ignore.
