What a time to be alive for Italian motorcycle brands — even those for whom the most Italian thing is the name.
Just take a look at this roundup of the notable recent moto releases, where fully half the entries hail from Benelli and Ducati.
The former is a heritage brand now produced in China, while the latter is an all-time great still proudly rolling out glorious café racers and other beautiful bikes in Bologna, Italy’s Borgo Panigale industrial district.

Benelli
2026 Benelli BKX 125
This small-bore ADV just about nails the needs of a first-time off roader. The beating heart is a punchy 125cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder, a big reason the weight (just 317.5 pounds) and price (roughly $4,780 USD) are super low. Even so, the BKX 125 boasts a fully adjustable 41mm fork, plus an adjustable rear monoshock, both of which offer more than seven inches of suspension travel. Here’s hoping it comes to the States one day.
Benelli takes aim at the Honda CB125R with this entry-level street bike, which undercuts the beloved Japanese brand by £2,200 (just over $3,000 USD). While the 125cc engine’s 11 horsepower isn’t knocking anyone’s socks off, approachability is assured thanks to the seat height and weight, which come in at 30.3 inches and 313 pounds (unladen), respectively. Though the bikes are now made in China, the gorgeous Italian design scores a few points too.
Carrying on the proud heritage of the W1, which hit North America 61 years ago, the W800 boasts a compelling combo of gorgeous retro styling, high approachability and surprising performance. The first trait is obvious at a glance while the second owes to a 31-inch seat height, 498-pound curb weight, assist & slipper clutch and full ABS. Then there’s the 773cc air-cooled vertical twin engine making 51 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and peak torque of 46.5 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm — much more than the original 500cc power plant could even imagine.
This bike celebrates the brand’s 100th year of existence and tips its cap to one of the most iconic Ducatis ever, the 750 Super Sport Desmo. Beneath the evocative aqua green and silver paint scheme is a deeper nod to the first Ducati road bike to feature a desmodromic valve timing system. The Formula 73’s period-faithful steel trellis frame houses an air-cooled 803cc Desmodue engine L-twin with desmodromic distribution, which makes a satisfying 73 horsepower at 8,250 rpm — and a characterful rumble enhanced by the custom Termignoni silencer.
This approachable new bike offers a lot more features standard than most ADVs in its size and price range, including heated grips and seat, hand guards, engine bars, bash plate, luggage, USB charging and full LED lighting. That all comes on top of a 449.5cc parallel-twin engine making more than 47 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, plus 30 lb-ft of torque, with a balanced tune that should transition smoothly from tarmac to the trails.
Ducati’s beloved big-bore ADV is the inaugural member of the brand’s new factory custom program, whereby customers can configure their dream bike at the time of ordering, with their selections installed directly on the Borgo Panigale production line. Options include a variety of paint schemes and liveries, plus wheels, color selections for the rear frame and brake calipers, rider and passenger seat heights and suspension, plus combinations of features from the Multistrada V4 S’s Touring, Adventure, Sport, Tech and Enduro packages.
Following the debut of the Edition X concept in November 2025, Wunderlich has unveiled a kit designed to give your R1300GS the same streamlined look. As such, in addition to a sharp new tail design, it touts a flat seat, an angled exhaust and some wider pegs. The changes aren’t just for show, either, as Wunderlich says that the seat allows for improved mobility, the exhaust more clearance and the pegs better traction. Nevertheless, taken together, the kit gives BMW’s big GS a sleek new enduro-inspired form.
First previewed at EICMA 2025, the Desmo450 EDS is the road-legal enduro version of Ducati’s ground-breaking motocrosser. Along with lights and signals, it touts additions like mirrors and a license plate bracket. However, the changes go much deeper than street accouterments. Ducati completely redesigned the 449.5cc single to make it more tractable through an updated throttle body, a revised piston and new intake and exhaust camshafts. Moreover, if the standard 42-horsepower output isn’t enough, the brand also offers a Performance Racing Kit for a mere $261.70. Add to that other differences, like 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, a transparent fuel tank, a radiator fan, and a revised gearbox, and it’s set to deliver the versatility the Demo450 deserves.
Priced at roughly $4,700 USD, this Spanish-designed, Chinese-made ADV could actually be the perfect entry-level urban moto. The liquid-cooled 300cc single-cylinder engine makes a solid 28 horsepower and 18.44 ft-lbs of torque, while the 31.1-inch seat height and 331-pound weight ensure it’s plenty nimble enough for low-speed maneuvers, navigating gridlock and easy parking. A five-inch TFT screen, USB charging and full LED lighting are sweet bonuses for the money.
For 2026, Husqvarna is treating its neo-retro, scrambler-inspired Svartpilen 801 to a new up-spec variant called the SE (Style Edition). In practice, this means the bike is powered by the same proven 799cc parallel-twin engine delivering 105 hp and 64 lb-ft of torque, but it comes with some choice visual and tech upgrades. As such, beyond adding a handsome dark green color scheme, the fresh SE digs also introduce Husqvarna’s Cruise Control and Easy Shift as standard features.
