UGG’s Tasman slipper is one of those rare footwear products that managed to transcend its own category.
What started as a casual, suede-and-shearling slip-on became something of a cultural fixture — spotted on college campuses, city sidewalks, and everywhere in between.
Based on its popularity, UGG decided to take the same silhouette and engineer it for the outdoors. The result is the Tasman Weather Hybrid, a waterproofed, weather-rated version of the original. And right now, it’s on sale for $105, down from its regular retail price of $160.
Upgrading a classic

The original Tasman debuted as a simple, low-profile slipper built around UGG’s signature shearling lining and suede upper. Its appeal was immediate and wide: the shoe offered the comfort of a slipper with just enough structure to wear outside the house.
Over time, it became one of UGG’s best-selling silhouettes, helped along by the broader resurgence of slipper-style footwear that swept through street style in the early 2020s. It’s the kind of shoe people buy intending to wear around the house and end up wearing everywhere.

The Weather Hybrid keeps the Tasman’s signature slip-on shape and UGGplush lining — a blend of 60 percent upcycled wool and 40 percent TENCEL Lyocell that delivers the same cushioned interior the original is known for. What’s new is everything on the outside.
