Long before Crocs were both panned and praised for their combination of “so-ugly-they’re-cool” looks and high levels of comfort, there were Uggs. Dating back to the 1970s, the brand’s boots have long been staples of the fashion industry, much to the chagrin of haters and joy of loyalists.
Love or hate them, there’s no denying their staying power, which is largely due to their comfort. That said, they’ve been lacking in other respects.
However, that seems slated to change, if the new Ugg Classic Mini GTX (and its low-top sibling, the Ugg Tasman GTX) are any indication. This boot takes one of the brand’s most iconic styles and gives it a major boost to durability and capability.

Snug as a Ugg
While there are some significant changes to this boot, it’s still an Ugg at its core. That means it retains the brand’s signature styling and is largely faithful to the way they’ve been built for decades.
That starts with the signature upper, which is still made from suede, just as it always has been. And that’s true for both the Classic Mini and the Tasman, although the latter has a more intricate collar design.
