After Denon announced its first Bluetooth turntable earlier this month, the Japanese audio maker is doubling down on home hi-fi by introducing a trio of new wireless multi-room speakers that look like clear Sonos rivals.

More specifically, Denon’s refreshed family of Home speakers looks to compete with Sonos’s Era 100, Era 300, and Five speakers.

Denon’s three new wireless speakers are, from smallest to largest, the Home 200, the Home 400, and the Home 600. Each of these speakers supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming, as well as USB-C and 3.5mm line-in audio, giving listeners the flexibility to listen however they want.

The big advantage with these new Home speakers, of course, is that they run on Denon’s HEOS platform, which works with its AV receivers and soundbars, as well as wireless speakers from other brands (including Marantz). This gives users more ways to build out their home hi-fi and home theater systems.

The Denon Home 200 is the most compact and affordable of the refreshed speaker lineup. And you can think of it as a rival to Sonos’ Era 100 (even if it looks more like a Move 2).

The speaker features three individually amplified drivers (two tweeters and one woofer) that, according to the brand, deliver “natural, room‑filling sound with a spaciousness that feels larger than its size.”

The Home 200 is a compact wireless speaker that can be grouped in a multi-room group with other HEOS-compatible speakers.

Additionally, it can be stereo paired with another Home 200 speaker, or two be configured as rear satellite speakers when paired with one of Denon’s latest wireless soundbars.

Next up, Denon’s Home 400. It doubles the drivers and amplifiers and, most notably, features up-firing drivers to deliver a more immersive Dolby Atmos experience. You can think of it as Denon’s answer to the Sonos Era 300.

According to the brand, it’s built for those who “want deeper immersion and more presence from their speaker, wherever they choose to place it.”

And finally, there’s the Denon Home 600. It’s the largest and most powerful of the three new speakers and is designed to deliver the best stereo sound with the deepest bass. Similar to the Sonos Five.

The Home 600 features dual, opposing 6.5‑inch woofers, along with an array of tweeters, midrange, and up-firing drivers. The latter of which promises to actually make it a more immersive-sounding speaker than the Five.

According to the brand, the Home 600 “delivers deep, authoritative bass from its built‑in subwoofer system, revealing the full depth of your music.”
