TUDOR’s reputation as the world’s premier maker of tool watches began in earnest in 1954 with the launch of its first diver, the original TUDOR Submariner. Over 60 years later, this legacy is now stronger than ever thanks to new releases and advancements building upon the brand’s rich history.
The North Flag
This new model in TUDOR’s watch lineup is inspired by the TUDOR Oyster Prince watches worn by members of the British North Greenland Expedition in the 1950s and pays homage to the original Ranger II of the 1970s. Its launch at this year’s BaselWorld took the horology world by storm for good reason. It is the company’s first timepiece ever to feature an in-house movement, dubbed MT5621, which is officially COSC certified to ensure the North Flag’s timekeeping accuracy even in extreme conditions. It also boasts a 70-hour power reserve, indicated on the dial, as well as an antimagnetic silicon hairspring. True to its tool-watch roots, the North Flag‘s 40mm monobloc case is built to withstand the demands of adventure thanks to a 100m waterproof depth rating and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and case back. The Pelagos
Since the 1950s TUDOR has produced dive watches chosen by the world’s navies as trusted tool watches. The Pelagos honors this legacy. This year, the iconic diver received a significant upgrade by incorporating a new in-house COSC-certified MT5612 movement. A fresh blue-dialed version with a blue-injected matte ceramic bezel was also revealed alongside the previous black model. Of course, the key features that helped the Pelagos establish itself as a capable daily diver all remain accounted for. It is still rated for a depth of 500m, and the case is still made from titanium to reduce weight and resist corrosion from salt water. It also retains the innovative spring-loaded clasp, designed to expand over a drysuit sleeve. Best of all, the 2015 Pelagos has kept a few nods to the vintage TUDORs of decades past, in the form of the “snowflake” hour hand and the words “Rotor Self-Winding” written on the dial.

The Fastrider Chrono
This unique and boldly designed watch is the latest gem to come from TUDOR’s partnership with legendary Italian motorcycle maker Ducati. The new TUDOR Fastrider Chrono is specifically inspired by the Ducati Scrambler, and features a matte black ceramic bezel and an angular stainless steel case, and it’s available in three colorways: bright yellow, olive green and red. Internally, its self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of approximately 46 hours includes a calendar function in addition to the typical stopwatch capabilities provided by the chronograph.
