Arendal Sound is a Norwegian hi-fi manufacturer that specializes in bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers, as well as multi-channel speaker configurations for home theater.

As part of the brand’s 10th anniversary celebrations, it has introduced a special-edition version of its flagship floorstanding speakers, the 1528 Tower 8, which normally sell for $10,900/pair.

Norwegian rosewood

The “10th Anniversary Edition” of the 1528 Tower 8 floorstanding speakers is mostly an aesthetic upgrade. Instead of the standard black or white finish, each loudspeaker’s cabinet features a gorgeous rosewood veneer finished with 12 layers of piano lacquer.

Other details include a satin-black front baffle and waveguide assembly, as well as woofer trim rings and base bars. They come with higher-end Puck Pro feet, too, which are an upgrade to the standard edition’s Puck Plus feet.

Only 50 speakers (or 25 pairs) will be made.

On the inside, the special-edition loudspeakers are identical as the standard models.

Each speaker features a three-way design with six total drivers, including a 28mm lithium-magnesium tweeter, a 5-inch carbon-graphene midrange, and four 8-inch aluminum bass drivers.

Additionally, each has a precision-engineered curved baffle. This, according to the brand, “aligns multiple drivers to the listening position effortlessly, reducing crossover design complexity and preserving sound purity.”

According to the brand, the curved baffle helps the loudspeaker deliver “every note with remarkable accuracy, creating a coherent and dynamic listening experience.”

Collector-worthy exclusivity

For those interested in one of these special-edition loudspeakers, you might want to act fast — only 50 loudspeakers, meaning 25 pairs, will be made.

On the back of each loudspeaker, there will be a chrome-plated stainless steel plaque with a serial number (along with a signature the brand’s CEO). They also come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

According to the brand, the special-edition loudspeaker combines “engineering precision, Norwegian design heritage, and collector-worthy exclusivity.”
