A Desktop Hi-Fi Great Just Made Its Affordable Computer Speakers Even Cooler

The Texas-based hi-fi brand is giving you more ways to build out your desktop speaker setup.

Last month, when Audioengine released the “2026 Color of the Year” editions of its popular desktop speakers, the A2+ Next Gen, it marked the first time that it offered companion stands in the same color finish. Both the speakers and DS1M speaker stands (sold separately) were available in the same color finish: “Limoncello Yellow.”

Well, somebody at the company thought that was a good idea, matching the speakers with the stands, so the company has now expanded that with its “Made For You” collection, giving you more color options to match the speakers with the stands at checkout.

And if you want to add a matching subwoofer, you can do so now as well.

Now you can match the stands and subwoofer with two of Audioengine’s desktop speaker systems.

The two speaker systems

Audioengine is actually including two of its popular desktop speakers in its “Made for You” collection: the A2+ Next Gen ($279) or the HD3 Next Gen ($359).

No matter which desktop system you buy, Audioengine now sells its DS1M speaker stands ($39) and S6 powered subwoofer ($299) in the same colored finishes, allowing you to build out a matching system.

As a refresher, both of the featured desktop systems, the A2+ Next Gen and the HD3 Next Gen, are mostly the same. The speakers are the same size, have the same drivers and feature the same 60-watt power amplifier. Both speaker systems have built-in Bluetooth and traditional stereo connections, so you don’t have to use them as desktop speakers.

What makes the HD3 Next Gen more expensive (by roughly $80) is the fact that they have a more premium finish, come with detachable grilles, and have a dedicated headphone amplifier.

On the flip side, the more affordable system, the A2+ Next Gen, comes in more color options. You can pick the speakers in five finishes: black, white, red, yellow (limoncello) or matte green.

The HD3 Next Gen system comes in just three colors: walnut, black or white.

Availability and pricing

Audioengine’s “Made for You” collection is available now, live on the company’s website. When you order either of its A2+ Next Gen or HD3 Next desktop speaker systems, you have the option of ordering matching DS1M stands and an S6 powered woofer.

If you want to mix-and-match the color of the stands and subwoofer, you can do that too.

This new option gives you more flexibility when building out your desktop speaker system … however, it doesn’t really affect the price. Both speaker systems, the stands and the powered subwoofer cost exactly the same as before.
