Another week down, and, per usual, a bunch of new tech and gadgets have been announced.
This past week, Leica introduced a monochrome variant of its Q3 digital camera, Klipsch reimagined its desktop speakers, and Lumin unveiled a flagship streaming DAC. But that’s just scratching the surface.
Below, we’ve rounded up all the most interesting new releases and announcements you might have missed from the past week.
LeicaLeica Q3 Monochrom
As its name suggests, the Leica Q3 Monochrom is a variant of the company’s 2023-released Q3 that captures only black-and-white photos and videos. The fixed-lens full-frame digital camera has the same specs as the Q3, including a 60-megapixel sensor, support for 8K video, a hybrid autofocus system and an electronic viewfinder that flips and tilts. The only real differences are that it has a higher ISO range (maxing out at 200,000) and it’s the first Q-series camera to support Leica’s Content Credentials, which allow you to prove that an image hasn’t been altered. This monochrome upgrade comes at a premium, however, as it costs over $1,000 more than the color-capable Q3.
KlipschKlipsch ProMedia Lumina
Klipsch’s ProMedia Lumina is a reimagining of the company’s original ProMedia desktop speaker system, released in 1999. It’s a 2.1-channel system comprised of two compact powered speakers and a wired subwoofer. The speakers have a two-way design, comprised of a one-inch tweeter (integrated with Klipsch’s patented MicroTractrix horn technology) and a three-inch midrange driver, and feature modern technology such as built-in Bluetooth and an integrated LED lighting system.
