KEF introduced its Blade series of floorstanding loudspeakers back in 2012, and, since then, they’ve served as its flagship models (even if, technically, its $225,000 Muon is the crème de la crème of its loudspeaker offerings).

Then, in 2022, the British audio maker updated its Blade series with next-gen Uni-Q drivers that feature Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a proprietary tech that absorbs unwanted sounds that lead to distortion. KEF called these the “Blade Meta” loudspeakers.

Since then, KEF has sold two models, the Blade One Meta and the smaller Blade Two Meta, both of which are designed for serious audiophiles with deep pockets. And it’s offered them in several different colored finishes.

Now it’s adding a few new finishes to the mix.

Specifically, KEF is refreshing both its Blade One Meta and Blade Two Meta loudspeakers by introducing them in three new high-gloss metallic finishes. The three options are Grigio (silver), Garnet (deep wine red) and Sapphire (blue).

Another neat detail is that, unlike previous models, KEF is color-matching the drivers on these refreshed Blade loudspeakers.

According to the brand, these new finishes with matching drivers are “designed to align with 2025/26 furniture and interior design trends.”

Aside from the new paint job, the acoustics of the actual loudspeakers have been unchanged.

The Blade One Meta is the larger loudspeaker with larger drivers, while the Blade Two Meta is designed for slightly smaller — but still big — listening rooms.

Both models have KEF’s latest generation Uni-Q driver array (which places a tweeter in the center of the bass/midrange driver) at its front and four force-cancelling bass drivers at its sides. The combination is designed to deliver an exceptionally pure sound.

Price and availability

KEF’s new-look loudspeakers are available now for the same price as before. The Blade One Meta and Blade Two Meta cost $35,000/pair and $28,000/pair, respectively.

In addition to the new high-gloss metallic finishes, KEF is still offering both loudspeakers in a few more glossy colors, including white, black and red. Other previous matte finishes have been discontinued.
