Just last month, Monitor Audio introduced a new option for its flagship Hyphn floorstanding loudspeakers, which sell for $99,000/pair. Since their release in 2023, they have come in three standard finishes. But now, customers can customize them in more than 200 colors … for an additional price. These Hyphn (Custom Editions) cost $109,000/pair.

If that’s out of your price range (which it most certainly is), Monitor Audio has numerous more affordable loudspeaker ranges.  Its most entry-level loudspeaker range is the Bronze Series, which it just updated last year. The 2025-released Bronze Series 7G consists of five loudspeaker models that can be set up in either stereo or home theater configurations. The range starts at $700.

Now, the British hi-fi manufacturer is introducing the next generation of its Silver Series range of loudspeakers, which sits just above the Bronze Series. According to the brand, the all-new Silver Series 8G was created with “one clear objective: to set a new benchmark for high-fidelity performance at its price point.”

A 7-loudspeaker lineup

Monitor Audio’s all-new Silver Series 8G consists of seven different loudspeaker models: two bookshelf, two floorstanding, one center channel and one on-wall. The company claims that “the range is as potent as it is flexible, engineered to perform beautifully in any system configuration, and any space.”

Naturally, Monitor Audio has introduced a number of key acoustic improvements over the Silver Series 7G, which was released in 2021.

Upgraded drivers (and tech)

Compared to those predecessors, every Silver Series 8G loudspeaker features a new-and-improved proprietary C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) driver, which now has the latest generation of RST III (Rigid Surface Technology).

According to the brand, this increased structural rigidity helps enable “greater accuracy, control and transparency across the entire frequency range.”

Additionally, each Silver Series 8G loudspeaker packs an updated C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter, which features an optimized vented rear chamber, a newly engineered shorting ring, and the latest UD Waveguide II technology.

Monitor Audio claims this helps each loudspeaker have “smoother, more natural treble reproduction with improved clarity, consistency and dispersion.”

Beyond the updated drivers, Monitor Audio has given each Silver Series 8G loudspeaker a new crossover design promising a cleaner, more transparent signal path. They’ve also been upgraded with a new port technology (inspired by “the interlocking wing feathers of an owl”) to help extend bass.

Notably, unlike the previous Silver Series 7G, the Silver Series 8G range has an on-wall speaker, which gives home theater enthusiasts more flexibility to create high-performance 5.1-channel systems up through full 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos installations.
