Pro-Ject’s Debut range is the Austrian hi-fi maker’s “best-selling” line of turntables — they’ve been incredibly popular since their introduction back in 1999.
Each Debut model is a belt-drive turntable with high-end components (many of which are upgradable) and a minimalist design. They’re positioned for entry-level audiophiles who want to get more serious about vinyl without breaking the bank.
In the last two years, Pro-Ject has added several new models to its Debut range, including the Debut Evo 2 ($699), the Debut Pro B ($1,099) and the Debut Pro S Balanced ($1,299). And now it’s adding another, even more premium model in the Debut Reference 10.

A premium Debut
Pro-Ject’s Debut Reference 10 is the most high-end and expensive turntable in the company’s Debut range. And naturally, it adds even more premium components and features to the Debut’s familiar, minimalist design.
The most notable upgrade is with its tonearm. The Debut Reference 10 features a hybrid carbon and aluminum tonearm (a first for a Debut turntable) that “offers full adjustability for both azimuth and vertical tracking angle.” You can adjust its height to accommodate different cartridges or turntable mats, making it easier to customize your setup.
