In the last several years, Sonos has introduced numerous speakers, soundbars, and even its first-ever pair of headphones. One thing it hasn’t announced? New hi-fi components.

The brand’s Port and Amp, its wireless streamer and streaming amplifier, respectively, have both been mainstays of Sonos’s offerings since 2019.

Now, in surprisingly move — there had been no leaks — Sonos has revealed the Amp Multi. It promises to be the company’s most advanced streaming amplifier to date.

But before you get too carried away, it’s important to note that the Sonos Amp Multi isn’t designed for mass market consumers. Instead, it’s designed for professional installers who are building advanced, multi-zoned Sonos systems in large homes and businesses.

This follows the last new product Sonos released, the Era 100 Pro, which was released in early 2025 and was designed for professional installers and not for regular consumers.

That aside, the Amp Multi promises to be a pretty serious streaming amplifier. It can deliver 125 watts per channel across four zones. Sonos claims it leverages advanced GaN technology and post-filter feedback (PFFB) to achieve greater efficiency, clarity, and control.

And the amplifier supports ProTune, a manual sound optimization tool that gives professional installers a full suite of manual controls — including a 10-band parametric equalizer — so they can fine-tune the amplifier settings for the passive speakers they are driving, as well as room acoustics.

Additionally, the Sonos Amp Multi has a textured, thermally-optimized chassis that the brand says helps enhance performance and durability. It also has a rack-friendly design and, naturally, you can have multiple working with each other to create a pretty sophisticated multi-room sound system.

Price and availability

At the time of writing, Sonos hasn’t revealed exact pricing or availability information for the Amp Multi. It lists it as “coming soon” on the company’s website.
