Wrensilva has been making some of the most gorgeous (and expensive) modern record consoles for the last decade.

These all-in-one hi-fi systems feature a built-in turntable, preamp, amplifier, and speakers, as well as numerous wired and wireless connections (including Sonos multi-room functionality). Plus, they’re packaged in a handmade, mid-century-inspired wooden cabinet.

To date, the California-based audio maker has offered two different modern record consoles — its flagship M1 ($18,900+) and The Standard ($14,900+), the latter of which is slightly smaller, scaled down, and more affordable.

Now, Wrensilva has added a third option, the Studio, which is its most compact (and affordable) modern record console to date. According to the brand, it’s “built for the spaces where high-end audio has always deserved to live but never quite fit.”

A timeless piece of furniture

If you’re familiar with Wrensilva’s previous record consoles, including the flagship M1 and The Standard, then you pretty much know the deal with the Studio. It’s an all-in-one hi-fi system that’s capable of both playing your favorite vinyl records and streaming your favorite music over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Of course, the Wrensilva Studio is a statement piece. The console is handmade in San Diego using natural walnut and charcoal speaker fabric. And it’s balanced on a pedestal base made of anodized brushed aluminum, inlaid with walnut. It’s simply stunning.

Like its larger siblings, the Studio is an all-in-one vinyl system system in a beautiful, furniture-grade cabinet.

Tuned by master mixers

On top of the Studio sits a floating belt-driven turntable that features a frosted acrylic platter, a bespoke one-piece magnesium tonearm, and an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. Inside, Wrensilva features a custom 100-watt-per-channel Class D amplifier powering a pair of custom 2-way bass-reflex speakers.

The sound of the system was tuned in collaboration with Manny Marroquin, an 18-time Grammy-winning mix engineer, and Giles Martin of Abbey Road Studios (who also happens to be the senior vice president of sound experience at Sonos).

Campfire glow

The Studio has been detailed with other stylish accents. The lid and the brass Wrensilva brandmark both have built-in backlighting. According to the brand, this makes the deck exude a warm glow, “transforming “the listening experience into its own musical campfire.”

Below the turntable and between the built-in speakers, the Studio features a textured door, behind which is a storage cabinet large enough to store up to 40 vinyl albums.

Each model features (at least) three listening modes: vinyl, Bluetooth and auxiliary. The Sonos integration is optional and incurs an additional cost.

Built for smaller spaces

The entire record console measures 31 inches wide by 17 inches deep and 33 inches tall, so it has quite a small footprint (especially compared to its larger siblings). According to the brand, its minimal footprint allows it “to fit seamlessly into smaller rooms, creative studios, retail, and hospitality spaces.”

Like all Wrensilva record consoles, the Studio is designed for both modern listening and vinyl. It has listening modes for vinyl, Bluetooth, and auxiliary. Additionally, you can order it configured with a Sonos Port, which allows you to easily integrate the Studio into your existing Sonos multi-room system. Naturally, this costs a bit extra.

Availability and pricing

The Studio is the most affordable option in Wrensilva’s Record Console Collection, which also includes the flagship M1 ($18,900+) and The Standard ($14,900+), but it’s still anything but cheap.

Wrensilva’s Studio starts at $9,900 for the model that supports three listening modes (vinyl, Bluetooth and auxiliary). If you want the Studio to integrate seamlessly with your Sonos system, that costs an extra $900.

The Wrensilva Studio is now available on the company’s website. At the time of writing, orders are expected to take between six and eight weeks to ship.
