How to Photograph a Pit Crew

Pro Tips

Our Automotive Writer, Bryan Campbell, just returned from covering the Rolex 24 Hours. It is what it sounds like: a twenty-four-hour-long event of some of your favorite automotive brands racing head-to-head. For who won, click here. One reader was curious about how he got the perfect shot.

Hello,
I’m a reader and also a photographer/designer/videographer/editor yatta yatta yatta. I just wanted to say that Cadillac Won article was cool and the photos were spectacular man. Just curious what you shot with?

Thanks for those great images. Esp. the one with the pit crew member in the whelen suit.

Great framing man!

Keep it up,
Benjamin

Here’s what Bryan had to say.

Thanks, man! Always good to hear feedback like that.

I spent all 24 hours with a Canon 5D, shooting with a 100-400 out on track/in the pits and a 24-105 in the pits.

Thanks for the kind words.

– Bryan
