Inspired by the classic American road trip, Finch’s El Camino is a knife that brilliantly blends traditional design and modern convenience. The silhouette hearkens to classic EDC folders of days long passed, but the button lock and flipper deployment are unmistakably contemporary. All three configurations come with 14C28N steel, which is similar in performance to Nitro-V, but they each have a unique handle material, including shredded carbon fiber, Kirinite resin and jigged bone.
Designed by award-winning custom knifemaker Stéphane Espi, this minimalist flipper dispenses with the pleasantries in favor of a lean silhouette and swift, smooth function. The business end is a 3.15-inch sheepsfoot blade made of Nitro-V steel, deployed via a subtle front flipper and held steady by a liner lock. The handle, meanwhile, is made of textured G10 and outfitted with a tip-up pocket clip to make carry easy.
Buck Knives Carbon Fiber 791 Range Elite (Stealth Run #014)
Thanks to its blend of top-notch materials and a potent locking mechanism, this limited-run release just might be Buck’s best modern EDC knife yet. Highlights include a 3.4-inch drop-point blade made of MagnaCut super steel augmented by a Bos heat treatment and an Armor Black Cerakote finish, a smooth-functioning crossbar lock, a gold-threaded marbled carbon fiber handle, ambidextrous thumb studs with a glow-in-dark tritium insert and a total weight of three ounces.
Named for the tiny former planet, this knife fights its own battle for respect by outperforming its relatively compact size. That starts with the blade, a 2.5-inch drop point made (in three of four variants) of S90V super steel, with a full belly and squat shape ideal for cutting, slicing and piercing. Other highlights include front and rear flipper tabs, a bolster lock and (in the priciest treatment) a handle featuring Snake Skin Gold Fatcarbon, a scaly pattern accented by goldish bronze flakes that combines luxury vibes with natural corrosion resistance.
Titaner Dragon Pearl: The 9-in-1 Titanium Modular Pen
The latest ambitious Kickstarter project from the mad scientists of titanium EDC is the revolutionary DIY essential you didn’t know you needed. This unique modular system lets you switch seamlessly from pen to pencil to scalpel to a host of other purpose-built implements craftspeople crave. Of course because it is Titaner we are talking about, everything is gloriously precision-machined, mainly of Gr5 titanium, making it not only light, smooth and satisfying to use but tough enough to last a lifetime.
This tiny 2.1-ounce knife impresses with its compact but capable 1.59-inch drop-point blade made of budget-friendly but reliable D2 steel, its tough but light Grade 5 titanium handle scales and its dual-tritium slots for lowlight visibility. But the keychain-ready small wonder truly delights with its butterfly knife-like deployment action, which is fidget-friendly yet function-forward, not to mention downright mesmerizing.
There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it: the Strider SnG is one of the greatest tactical folding knives ever made. It has an unmistakable silhouette and has been beloved by the community for nearly three decades. While it has been quiet the last few years, it is arguably getting its loudest special edition ever in Blade HQ’s exclusive Dessert Warrior redux, which sees its presentation scale get a sprinkled donut-inspired colorway. Of course, this is still a deeply functional knife with a MagnaCut blade, G-10 and Titanium handle, frame lock, thumb hole deployment and more.
Buck Knives 112 Ranger (April 2026 Buck of the Month)
This elevated take on an iconic folder marks a significant milestone as the 100th Buck of the Month since the birth of the series in 2018. Limited to 500 units, this particular treatment boasts a 3-inch drop point blade made of satin-finished BOS heat-treated S35VN steel, a marbled carbon fiber handle and nickel silver barehead bolster. A long pull nail notch eases two-handed deployment, with a backlock holding the blade in place and a removable deep-carry clip keeping it safe in your pocket.
Designed by Ana Espinoza as a part of Tops Knives annual employee design challenge, this truly robust knife was crafted with maximum performance in mind. Unlike other dive knives, this one isn’t meant to be a last line of emergency defence; it’s meant to be a sturdy sidekick you can rely on day in and day out. To that end, it has a unique N690 stainless steel blade, offering outstanding edge retention and corrosion resistance, with a powerful tip, partial serrations (for slicing rope) and a debris-clearing integrated line cutter on the spine. It also gets a contoured G-10 handle, durable black powder-coat finish and Kydex sheath.
