While vehicles like the Mercedes Sprinter have long been darlings of the van life world, Ram’s ProMaster continues to make inroads as an alternative, and for good reason.
Beyond its comparatively affordable price point, the van stands apart as the only front-wheel-drive offering in its class. If you can’t spend up for a dedicated AWD option, it’s the next best thing.
Now, word has it that Ram is about to make the ProMaster even more suited to prospective overlanders. It’ll take the form of an option called the Vanlife, and it’s set to make conversions more convenient.

Ram is embracing the van life
The confirmation comes courtesy of Car and Driver. The outlet spoke with a Ram company representative who provided details about the new 2027 ProMaster range.
In effect, the Vanlife is a package that’s meant to combine a host of existing, configurable options under a common selection. Just as Ram readies the ProMaster for working professionals and tradespeople, it’ll soon be extending the treatment to campers.
