American Expedition Vehicles has teased more information and photos of their highly anticipated AEV Brute Double Cab — which will officially launch at SEMA. The ruggedized monster appears to be a double helping of the original Brute launched back in 2002 and is based off the new JK wrangler frame. Inspired by the coveted Land Rover Defender 130 and built specifically for the overland travel market, it packs more off road prowess than your typical quad cab truck, and more cargo room and carrying capacity than the average Jeep. In terms of tweaks, what we know for now is that the Double Cab stretches the factory chassis by 23-inches for 139 inches of total wheel base and features a slight frame extension to support the 61”L x 60”W pickup bed. Other details are slim, but going off of the photos and AEV launches in the past, we’d wager the Brute Double Cab could leave treads from Satan’s front lawn to the Artic and back without missing a beat. The first models out of the company’s Wixom, MI facility are scheduled to come sometime in mid-2010, but only to current owners of other AEV riders and dealers. Order will open up to the public sometime later as production hits full stride.
