There’s a Massive Cash Discount on the Jeep Wrangler, But There’s a Catch

Jeep has a rare discount on the Wrangler, but only for certain buyers.

Jeep, like other manufacturers, often offers discounts on its new cars in order to move inventory out the door. Usually, the carmaker’s blockbuster year-end savings events leave out the one Jeep most people really want: the Wrangler. But according to Cars Direct, Jeep is currently offering a year-end $2,500 cash discount on both two-door and four-door Wranglers —  the largest manufacturer rebate they’ve ever seen on the famous off-roader.

Of course, there is a significant catch. The $2,500 discount? Yeah, it’s only available in California. It’s also, sadly, not available on the loaded, off-road-oriented Rubicon trim. So, if you’re planning on getting the ultimate diesel Wrangler rock crawling rig, you will need to pay full freight.

Cars Direct also found some excellent California lease deals on the Wrangler Unlimited Sport, with leases starting at just $289 per month with $3,100 down. The total cost works out to about $100 cheaper per month than a TRD Off-Road trim version of the Toyota 4Runner — at least, in California. (That’s also about $46 per month less than the current deal available on a two-door Wrangler Sport at my local dealer in Michigan, for what it’s worth.)

Don’t expect a similar discount on the Jeep Gladiator, though; that Wrangler-based truck is actually getting a price increase for 2020. That said, current Jeep owners can still get a $1,000 loyalty incentive on a new Gladiator through the end of the year.
