In 1986 Master Austrian glassmakers Riedel changed the glassware game by introducing the first line of machine-made pieces tailored to different wine types — this was the Vinum collection, which has held as the standard for affordable, varietal-specific glasses since. The Vinum collection, which features a glass for cabernets to rosés, is made with dishwasher-safe crystal glass and also comes in an “extreme” model, providing an upgraded glass size. Right now, a set of two Riedel Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon (Merlot and Bordeaux, too) Extreme series glasses is $39, $20 off its usual price.
