If there’s one small backpack company you should know about before closing out 2018, it’s Evergoods. The company launched midway through last year with a Kickstarter campaign that earned over $160,000 and featured two backpacks notable for blending mountain and city features intelligently in bags that are sleek enough in appearance to fit in anywhere. Now the company, which is helmed by an ex-Patagonia engineer and one of GORUCK’s original co-founders, is up to four backpacks and each one is equally impressive in its own right.
One of those first backpacks is the Civic Panel Loader 24 (or CPL 24), a minimal commuter backpack that’s perfect for daily town life but can operate in the mountains if need be. “This bag is simple, durable and understated,” says one of our editors. “It’s got GoRuck vibes, without screaming mil-spec intensity. There’s a side-access laptop pocket that’s invaluable, one big accessory pocket on the front, some internal pockets and a large panel-loading opening that makes it easy to access what’s inside.”
For Cyber Monday, Huckberry is offering 13-percent off the CPL 24 in black. It may not be as deep of a discount as what you’ll see on big screen TVs and outdoor apparel, but given the small-batch nature of Evergoods’ production (these bags are rarely available, let alone on sale) and the quality of this bag, we think you should know about it regardless.
