Sometimes a classically styled, no-nonsense field watch is the best option for daily wear, especially during the summer — it’s a timepiece that you don’t have to think too much about when you put it on in the morning, and something you don’t have to be precious with during the day.
Vaer is a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of such affordable field watches assembled with Swiss quartz movements. The Heritage and Field models features 40mm stainless steel cases, scratch-resistant sapphire crystals, and 100m of water resistance. The Heritage is available in both black and white dials inspired by 1940s field watches, with an outer railroad track and mixed dot and dash indices, as well as a date function. The Field model is available in white and features a slightly different dial design as well as a date. Both models also feature Super LumiNova lume and screw-down crowns, and come with two straps: a Horween leather single-pass and a nylon NATO.
Right now, you can take $30 off the $199 list price of each model from Huckberry — just in time for summer.
