A good pair of classic white sneakers is a timeless go-to style staple everyone should have in their wardrobe. It definitely helps if the sneakers themselves are also iconic models from famed brands.

Take, for instance, the Adidas Samba. Originally designed for soccer, this sneaker from the Three Stripes brand has transcended its origins and become one of the most beloved silhouettes in footwear.

Now, it has also finally entered the ultra-clean white sneaker conversation, albeit in a pretty unexpected way, with the Quiet Golf x Adidas Samba.

Hole-in-one

To be fair, this isn’t the first time the Samba has been all-white (or close to it, at least.) Pharrell Williams collaborated with Adidas on an off-white Samba, and an all-white Samba XLG is currently available on the brand’s site.

However, it might just be the cleanest one that’s this close to the original silhouette. (The XLG looks more like a Nike AF1 than a true Samba.) That said, it’s worth addressing the elephant in the room: this is a golf shoe.

The only color is found on the green tongue patch and the “Quiet Golf” text next to the sneaker’s stripes, where it usually reads “Samba.”

That can be noted in two ways. First and most obviously, it has “Quiet Golf” text next to its stripes where the label typically reads “Samba.” Second, the shoe is fitted with a golf-friendly translucent rubber outsole.

However, if you can get past the labeling, the outsole is spikeless. That means wearing them elsewhere — in the clubhouse or even out on the town — is not an unreasonable (or destructive) ask. And it’s definitely hard to argue with how good they look overall.

From the links to the lounge

Speaking of looking good, that’s managed in a couple of important, distinct ways. First, the all-white upper is crafted from patent leather, making these very high quality.

Second, the craftsmanship is impeccable. Not a stitch is out of order — which, honestly, is something you should expect from any patent leather shoe, not just these Adidas golf shoes.

There are also only three hints of color — and they’re all the same shade of grassy green. The first is on the sides (the “Quiet Golf” text.) The second is on the tongue patch, which has Quiet Golf and Adidas co-branding. And the third is on a trio of lugs on the underside of the outsole.

While the Quiet Golf branding is likely an understandable knock against them stylistically, the overall good looks of this take on the Samba make me wonder if Adidas could translate it to a lifestyle-specific edition. Still, even the product page for this take lists them as “designed for golf and life.”

The Quiet Golf x Adidas Sambas are now available on the former brand’s site for $150 per pair. However, they’re already selling out quickly and are available in limited sizes, so you’ll want to act fast.
