As New Balance’s signature silhouette, the 990 (in all of its versions) is a landmark model for both the brand and broader sneaker culture.

While its original grey colorway embodied the understated aesthetic New Balance became known for, the latest Made in the USA 990v4 reimagines the icon in a neutral, grounded palette inspired by one of summer’s most classic treats.

New Balance’s Made in USA collection highlights over 75 years of American craftsmanship and is recognized as the pinnacle of the brand’s offerings.

The Made in USA 990v4, originally released in 2016, could be considered the tip of the pyramid when it comes to quality-driven, timeless New Balance styles.

Its latest colorway, Pumpernickel with Pink Chalk and Alabaster, immediately calls to mind Neapolitan ice cream, thanks to its white mesh upper with pink highlights, paired with chocolatey brown overlays.

Alongside its delectable new color combination, the 990v4 retains the same technology and components that made it a classic to begin with.

Those include the Abzorb cushioning in the heel and forefoot, combination Encap and C-Cap midsole, reflective accents, NDurance rubber outsole and the streamlined, modernized profile built upon the foundation of its v3 predecessor.
