Or in this case, when Adidas’s most iconic, bestselling sneaker is given such a premium makeover, positively ID-ing it takes a solid double-take (or two).

The Song for the Mute x Adidas Originals 009 Samba Freizeit is a masterclass in approachable luxury, blending the classic silhouette with premium materials.

Elevate everyday

The 009 Samba Freizeit (which translates to “leisure time” in German) is the third collaborative effort between The Three Stripes and Song for the Mute, an Australian label known for its avant-garde designs.

The partnership gives weight to the “third time’s a charm” theory, as evidenced by this luxe yet approachable take on the iconic Samba.

The upcoming release comes in two colorways: a rich brown and classic black. The black option features a perforated upper, which offers subtle texture when paired with the inky color.

The brown variant eschews that perforation in favor of decorative stitching across the vamp and lateral and medial sides of the shoe.

Both colorways are crafted with a tumbled leather that brings depth to the low-profile shoe, as well as off-white Three Stripes overlays that add soft contrast.

Availability and pricing

The Song for the Mute x Adidas Originals Samba Freizeit will be available starting on May 15th on both Adidas and SFTM’s websites. Pricing has not yet been revealed.
