Ikea has never shied away from playful, unconventional design—and its new Stråla LED floor lamp serves as a prime example. It’s a bold, geometric conversation piece that sits somewhere between a modern art statement and tongue-in-cheek kitsch.
With its angular form and unexpected pops of color, the lamp’s design invites double-takes and sparks curiosity. While Stråla LED floor lamp hasn’t totally flooded home and design-focused social feeds yet, it’s the kind of product that almost seems built for viral fame: oddball, affordable, and quintessentially Ikea.
Art, a Joke, or Both?

Inspired by a bundle of oversized wooden matches, Stråla crafts three solid pine “sticks” into a tripod frame, each finished with a vibrant red LED point.
The lamp is dimmable in two steps for either a cozy or playful ambient glow, and the softly diffused polycarbonate gives its light an approachable warmth.
Designer Lukas Bazle’s playful intent peeks through everywhere—in both the visual wink and the straightforward function. At just 26 inches high with an 8-foot cord, Stråla is loaded with personality, even when switched off.
