Harley-Davidson’s Most Approachable Motorcycles Are Shockingly Affordable Right Now

The massive discounts are even more surprising considering the bikes themselves boast a pair of rider-friendly upgrades.

From urban-oriented bikes to electric-specific rider programs to Tom Cruise riding an S2 Del Mar out of the Summer Olympics closing ceremony, LiveWire has tried seemingly everything to boost interest in its battery-powered motorcycles.

Recently, however, the Harley-Davidson sub-brand pulled a big red emergency lever, to the extreme benefit of anyone considering kissing their gas goodbye.

The S2 Del Mar sees the biggest discount of the bunch, a whopping 38 percent off.

Specifically, LiveWire has announced its global “Twist & Go Promotion,” whereby all three core S2 lineup motorcycles are getting deeply discounted, up to (wait for it) $6,250 off.

Throw in a free software update that gives the bikes two new features —and the fact you can now get a license without learning how to manually shift — and there’s never been a better time to go electric.

Discount details

Here’s a quick look at the discounts available for each LiveWire S2 motorcycle, through October 31st.

The S2 Del Mar, originally priced at $16,249, now starts at $9,999. That’s a price slash of $6,250, equivalent to just over 38 percent off the “street tracker.”

With its price slashed by one-third, the S2 Mulholland immediately becomes more compelling.

The S2 Mulholland, originally priced at $16,499, now starts at $10,999. That’s $5,500 or 33 percent off the performance cruiser.

The S2 Alpinista, originally priced at $15,999, now starts at $11,999. That’s $4,000 or 25 percent off the sport standard, which just launched in January.

Rider-friendly upgrades

Looking for even more of an incentive? LiveWire ups the ante even further via a move you can only pull with electric motos.

Without even picking up a wrench, the brand has added two new features via a software update.

The first is a rare one that should prove pretty handy during low-speed maneuvers such as parking: reverse.

The very new S2 Alpinista gets the smallest discount, and it’s still a very tempting 25 percent.

The second is equally literal in its nomenclature. Roll-Forward Regenerative Braking enables full regenerative braking by rolling the throttle forward.

LiveWire says these features are available now for all S2 motorcycles in North America, with plans to expand to European markets later this year.

Just make sure to get over to a dealership in the next couple of months. As mentioned earlier, the Twist & Go Promotion runs through the end of October.
