Triumph’s Next Bond Moto Outfits 007 with a Bike Like Never Before

Hinckley has envisioned a new two-wheeler for MI6’s most esteemed operative. It’s fiery, to say the least.

When Triumph made its first foray into the Bond universe, the brand was sure to do so with authority. During the opening sequence of the franchise’s 25th film, No Time To Die, 007 rides a Scrambler 1200 XE in a chase scene that’s nothing if not attention-grabbing.

As a result of that appearance, the Hinckley-based bikemaker subsequently spun off a series of special-edition models that were done up in Bond’s honor and sold to the public. Along with a run of Scramblers like that which starred in the film, this also resulted in the release of a sweet Tiger 900 and even a Speed Triple RR.

Dazzling as each of those efforts were, though, they can’t compare to Triumph’s next Bond bike. Unlike its predecessors, it fully embraces the gadgets that are all too often crucial to the MI6 operative’s mission objectives.

Triumph’s fire-breathing dirt bike

Now, it’s worth addressing the elephant in the room: the forthcoming Triumph is for the new James Bond video game 007 First Light, not a film.

Still, it’s a bike that’s worth appreciating, since the motorcycle in question (a TF 250-X) makes for a very different set of wheels compared to some of Her Majesty’s finest’s previous rides. What’s more, it’ll feature in a narrative unlike anything we’ve seen on film, as IO Interactive has envisioned a standalone origin story with a young James Bond.

Of course, the most exciting part about the British motocross bike has to be the addition of the rear-mounted flamethrower. Courtesy of Q Lab, it’s a gadget that you see Bond activate in the game’s trailer via his signature Omega timepiece.

However, it’s not just a feature that the developers have imagined for the sake of creating fun cut scenes. During gameplay, players will actually be able to send a column of fire out from their exhaust (presumably to burn any pursuers to a crisp).

An unusual choice of wheels for MI6

As much as the Q flamethrower is the headlining aspect of Triumph’s two-wheeled First Light cameo, the TF 250-X is a notable choice in its own right (if a little odd in some respects).

That’s because, beyond being a model you can actually buy, it’s also unlike any other motorcycle to have made a 007 appearance. It’s a dedicated 250cc dirt bike.

As a result, it’s considerably more specialized compared to some of the other two-wheelers Bond has previously had at his disposal. Even the most recent Scrambler 1200XE, while off-road-capable, is fundamentally a street-based Triumph.

On the one hand, this yields obvious benefits when engaged in pursuits because of things like the chassis and the suspension. At just a touch over 229 pounds wet, the TF 250-X is a featherweight, and it offers nearly 12 inches of travel at each end.

At the same time, though, this means that it’s not nearly as equipped or, well, practical, as some other potential options from the Triumph lineup. Beyond making concessions when it comes to output and fuel capacity because of its, the TF 250-X doesn’t run lights or any kind of provisions for road legality.

Granted, Bond wouldn’t have time to sweat those details in the heat of the action. However, if it’s coming direct from Q, Triumph could have at least fixed him up with one of its enduro-focused TF 250-E models (those at least come with a headlight).

Availability and pricing

Nitpicking aside, it’s refreshing to see Bond’s motorcycle not only embrace the gadgets the spy is known for but also be something so different from what riders would normally associate with Triumph.

Assuming you want to rip the bike in the real world, it’d be easy enough to recreate. Triumph’s 2026 TF 250-X starts from $9,795, and it just so happens there are flamethrowers available that look to be a perfect fit…

You’ll have to talk to Q about the Omega, though.

In any event, 007 First Light is available for pre-order now. If you’re not feeling ambitious enough to build your own, you’ll be able to play the fiery 250-X in the game starting May 27, 2026.
