The Nike Free collection is back to help you hit your most natural running stride — with all new shoes that will have you wondering if you’re wearing shoes. The low profile sneakers are extremely flexible making the older versions my favorite for HIIT and cross-training workouts. The Nike Free Rn 5.0 and the Nike Free Rn Flyknit 3.0 have a lower offset meaning you’re closer to the ground. Both have redesigned uppers with a stretch mesh or Flyknit yarns. Since the shoes aren’t meant for longer distances, the foam is harder — very similar to the original 2004 model. But they’re not firm enough that it’s hard to stuff them in your suitcase. If you’re looking for the perfect pair of travel running shoes, the newest Nike Free sneakers are your gold medal winners. You can Marie Kondo them, rolling them up to fit in small spaces in your carry-on, unlike other chunky (albeit more supportive) sneakers. Nike Plus members can check out the new line starting today at 1 PM on Nike.com, and it will be available for everyone else tomorrow.
