The Nike Pegasus Turbo 2 is an update to the brand-new running shoes that dropped in 2018. The Turbo was the everyday trainer that still felt fast; I wore them for a half marathon earlier this year and can attest to the comfortable yet speedy combination. I’ve been running in the Pegasus Turbo 2s for the past couple weeks and can say these shoes feel even faster than the previous version.
Updates like a sleeker and lighter upper, more breathable fabric and a seemingly firmer midsole turn this everyday trainer into a race day-worthy sneaker. The initial step-in feel is similar, but wearing the two back to back, you get a sense of just how plush the original Turbos were. At this year’s Brooklyn Mile, I opted for the Turbo 2s and found them to be as responsive and quick as I needed to sprint 1600 meters.
The Pegasus Turbo 2 sells for the same amount as the original Nike Pegasus Turbo, $180. You can pick it up today if you’re a Nike Plus Member or on July 13 if not.
