Four decades ago, two outdoor brands were founded on opposite sides of the country: in Ventura, Califonia a small brand focused on climbing gear was born, and in Waitsfield, Vermont a company dedicated to perfecting hiking boots was brought to life.

Now, these two brands are working together on their first collaboration, one rooted in heritage, craftsmanship and performance. The Merrell X Gramicci Moab 2 Siren brings together durability and street style in one reimagined trail icon.

Siren song

The Merrell Moab 2 Siren X Gramicci brings together two outdoor originals and their distinct brand identities, uniting the vision for a trail shoe that looks as good as it performs.

The reinterpreted, street style-ready Siren Web upper is constructed with suede leather overlays, breathable mesh and a Lycra spandex lining, and it comes in two new colorways, “Citron” and “Dark Earth.”

The lacing is now more integrated into the upper’s construction through a series of incorporated straps built into the sides of the shoe, prioritizing functionality and enhanced fit.

The Moab 2 Siren X Gramicci is built upon Merrell’s trusted, lightweight EVA foam midsole and Vibram TC5+ high traction outsole, both of which are carry-overs from the original Moab 2.

The molded nylon arch shank and proprietary Merrell Air Cushion in the heel, which is designed to absorb shock and add stability, are also Moab mainstays that have been built into this new version.

Step it up

Aside from the eye-catching new Siren upper, there are a handful of more subtle updates and features worth exploring on this version of the Moab.

The new laces are 100 percent recycled, and the eco-friendly story continues with the 50-percent recycled EVA foam insole and 100-percent recycled mesh footbed cover.

The padded collar, rubberized toecap and metal eyelets extend rugged durability throughout the trail shoe.

Availability and pricing

The Moab 2 Siren X Gramicci will be available on Merrell’s official website, as well as Gramicci’s, starting tomorrow, October 24th, retailing for $140.
