You’d be forgiven if you took a passing glance at this hiking boot and mistook it for a capable-yet-cushioned Hoka, or even a trail-ready Arc’teryx hiker. But the Trekker S isn’t from either of these outdoor mainstays … it’s from Saucony.

Saucony may not be a household name like Nike or Adidas yet, but the brand has tons of running pedigree. While the footwear company was founded way back in the 19th century (1898, to be exact), its luxury sub-label, Saucony Silo, is relatively new … and it’s latest release may be just what the brand needs to break into the mainstream.

Thanks to its stying, colorways and technical materials, this could easily be mistaken for a Hoka hiking high-top.

Trail-ready tech

Saucony Silo was developed with the mission to elevate running footwear by merging impressive performance with high-end aesthetics, and the new Saucony Silo Trekker S marks the sub-label’s entry into high-top hiking footwear, and nails on-trend style without sacrificing capability.

Thanks to its woven knit collar and tongue construction, paired with a full-grain leather upper, closed mesh quarter and fully molded, 7mm eTPU beaded foam sockliner, the Trekker S keeps up with the latest advancements in hiking shoe materials, and brings them together in a stunning package that rivals Hoka for good looks.

Based on design language from Saucony’s archives, the 2000s-influenced Trekker S is engineered for the trail while looking right at home on the streets.

The performance-oriented high top uses elevated tooling taken directly from the recently released Exodus 4, the brand’s max-cushioned, long-distance trail running shoe.

Borrowed tech includes the compression molded PWRRUN midsole and Vibram Megagrip outsole, both of which excel on long distances and challenging terrain.

Reinforced overlays add textural depth and style, while maintaining the rugged protection needed on-trail.

Available in three colorways, “Black,” “Pine/Sand” and “Mauve/Shale,” this high-top hiker is all dressed up and ready to trek.

Availability and pricing

The Trekker S is available now on Saucony Silo’s official website, retailing for $250.
