Vosteed’s Latest Titanium EDC Knife Is Slender Enough to Fit Inside Your Wallet (Yes, Really)

The rising EDC brand has now proven its tremendous mettle three times over in regard to slender, innovative design.

Back in 2024, Vosteed stunned everyday carry audiences with its absurdly thin Parallel knife. Then, last year, the brand expanded and capitalized on its proof of concept with the Raccoon TiSlim, arguably an altogether more well-rounded EDC knife.

It appears the third time is the charm, as the brand has done it once again with the Vosteed Porcupine TiSlim, which takes another fan-favorite silhouette and gives it the same slenderized treatment. And it might just be the best of them so far.

Three’s company

If you’re familiar with the Raccoon TiSlim, you probably have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the Porcupine TiSlim. It would also be fair to call the TiSlim line a true family, now that there’s a complete second entry alongside multiple configurations.

Even if you’re unfamiliar, you can probably garner some crucial info from the knife’s name. For instance, the “Ti” in “TiSlim” refers to the handle material: titanium. Like its predecessor, this Porcupine also gets titanium handle scales and a matching machined pocket clip.

Here, you can see how much slimmer the Porcupine TiSlim (center) is when compared to the standard Porcupine (above and below).

However, it’s the second half of that name that is arguably more significant, as it means this knife is markedly slimmer than previous Porcupine models. Measuring just 0.315 inches thick, this knife is slender enough to fit inside a wallet (yes, really).

And yet, it is still a fully-featured, full-sized EDC knife. In fact, it measures 7.22 inches overall (fitting squarely into what I typically call the EDC sweet spot, between 6.5 and 7.5 inches) and features a 3.04-inch drop-point blade, which is exceptionally utilitarian for EDC cutting tasks.

Unlike the Raccoon, which had a crossbar lock, this TiSlim has a button lock.

What’s the skinny?

This is not just a carbon clone of the Raccoon TiSlim with a different silhouette, however. There are some significant differences, some of which could be called vast improvements to functionality and convenience (although some of that comes down to preference).

For example, the handle now features milled scales, which improve grip and add greater depth and dimension to the styling (it even extends to the pocket clip). The handle is also wider across, which is better for larger hands.

This Porcupine TiSlim also utilizes a different lock โ€” one familiar to those who have handled a Porcupine already: a button lock. While this mechanism reduces its ambidexterity (the pocket clip is also not reversible), it’s definitely easier to operate overall, as you simply depress the recessed button to release the blade (rather than “pinching” both sides, as with a crossbar).

However, there are some returning features, like 154CM steel for the blade, thumb studs for deployment, a lanyard hole and more. It is worth noting that four of the five configurations share the same material makeup, but the fifth is a special edition with S90V steel and an Acid Wash textured handle.

Whatever the case, this bodes well for Vosteed’s future and I, for one, hope it means more knives like this one are in the near future.
